Kirk Boster on Getting Your Resume Right—An Introduction
Resume writing is easy, yet stressful, because you want to make a good impression on your potential employer. Like all things in life, you're going to get out of your resume what you put into it. Unsuccessful resumes are typically put together within 10 minutes and lack a conscious effort to demonstrate professionalism and a thorough thought process. In my first article, I am going to provide you with 3 clear-cut steps to creating a winning resume.

The number-one rule to remember about resume writing is that YOU have to be happy with what you have put together for potential employers. If you show your resume to 20 different people, you're bound to get 20 different answers and 100 different suggestions. When all is said and done, before you click "send" on that email or lick the envelope, make sure you're happy and confident with what you're sending. If not . . . it's time to rework the resume. This article is continued on our college and career choices page.
